LEGION HOLDS MEETING MONDAY Officers For Next Year Include Colonel Mumma, Carl Kuehnle, Jr. and Earl Wells Monday night at 8:30 in the natural science auditorium the S. U. I. Legion meets for the last time this year. Becaues of the many pressing activities at the close of the school year, only a short meeting is planned. Carl Khuenle, vice commander urges every member to be present and also, all other men, eligible to membership, who are interested in the work of the Legion. Definite plans will be made for next years work, and committees will be appointed to investigate questions of interest to the ex-soldier and former sailor. The officers of the Legion elected at the last meeting for next year are: Col. Mumma, commander; Carl F. Khuenle, Jr., vice commander; Earl W. Wells, adjutant; W. M. Griffith, personnel adjutant; E. J. Ryan, supply officer; Chas. F. Ward, Paul R. Rockwood, Carl I. Errickson, Percy Bordwell, Lawrence G. Raymond, members of executive committee. SOCIETY AND PERSONAL Mrs. E. D. Starbuck and son motored to Osage last week where Professor Starbuck gave a commencement address. Elizabeth Quick of Burlington is the guest this week end of Miriam Roe at the Alpha Xi Delta house. Catherine Moore is spending the week end at her home in Brooklyn. Her sister, Jean, B. A. '18, visited here last week. Etta Anthony was a guest at her home in Fort Madison this week end. Phi Kappa entertained at a dinner dance at the Jefferson last night. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Ries and Mr. and Mrs. W. Hart, Jr. chaperoned. Gamma Phi Beta entertained at a dinner dance at the Jefferson Friday. Genevieve Tracy, Alpha Chi Omega, has been called home to Brighton because of the death of her grandmother. Edyth Saylor, Delta Zeta, is spending the week end at her home in Burlington. Jean Spiers, freshman, left Friday for her home in Reinbeck, From there, she will begin work as play supervisor for the Redpath Vawter chautauqua company. Dorothy Hull, Delta Gamma, is the guest of Mrs. Arthur Parsons at Geneseo, Illinois. Grace McEniry and Helen Andrews of Currier hall are the guests of Mary Coine at Cedar Rapids. Gertrude Hearst of Chicago and Norma Ireland of Independence are guests of Elma Forbes at the Alpha Chi Omega house. Verda Walter and Florence Van Meter of Currier hall are spending the week end at their homes in Tipton. Both girls are members of the Theta Sigma Phi chapter at Ames. Mrs. C. W. Katz of Dubuque is the guest of her daughter, Elsie at Currier hall. Lucile Irish of Whiting is the guest of University friends. Martin H. Burge, M. D. '18, is visiting friends in the city. Dr. Burge has been practicing in St. Louis.
