PAGE FOUR THE DAILY IOWAN, STATE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA Tuesday, July 22, 1919 SPIRIT OF FROSH AT MEN'S BANQUET (Continued from page 1) all the day, O, what fun it is to see Dean C.E. Seashore play. Tuning forks blooming forks, rhythm, sound and pitch We fear 'twill land us some fine day in a psychic ditch. Then to be goo sports, the grads framed this one up on themselves, thereby immortalizing the noon tea-parties held daily on campus: Out on the campus in the bright noon of the day, In the shade of the big trees, Sitting Bulls hold sway, There the fates of all nations are decided, by gum, And believe me or not, the profs ears must hum. There's Latham whose yarns are so black and bear mould, And Franzen, our poet, who makes hearers fold, Their hands and gaze upwards in rapture divine, As the rocks and the trees sway in time to his rhyme. Silas W. Johnson acted as toastmaster. Toasts were given by President W.A. Jessup, Deans C.E. Seashore, G.F. Kay, W.F. Russell ad [sic] D.O. McGovney, by professors Shambaugh, Lewis, Weller and Ensign and by Coach Jones. Mr. McIntyre, superintendent at Muscatine, Mr. Kittrell, principal of the high school at Devil's Lake, N.D., and Mr. Davis, superintendent at Knoxville, also spoke. Mr. McCrory, graduate student, gave a take off on some of the education tests. TO HOLD PUBLIC SEMINAR Prof. Gilbert L. Houser will conduct a seminar for the discussion of biological problems of especial interest to teachers and social workers Tuesday evening July 22 at 7:30 in room 107, natural science. Professor Houser states that the topics so far submitted are highly suggestive. All students of the summer session are invited to attend this summer. TO TELL OF SEA LION HUNT "Hunting for Sea Lions" is the title of the lecture to be given by Prof. Homer Dill in the physics hall tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock. Professor Dill will tell of his trip to the west coast and will show slides illustrating his specimens and some the experiences of his expedition. Persons who have taken [books?] from the Y.W.C.A. are requested by the president to return them [by?] end of the first session of summer school on Friday.
