LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY BATON ROUGE FOOTBALL OFFICE January 25, 1968 Mr. N. C. Kinnick, Sr. Ill4S 79th Omaha, Nebraska 68124 Dear Mr. Kinnick: Let me introduce myself: I am Coach Bill Beall, Defensive Backfield Coach at LSU. I am the father of three sons, and sometime ago we started the hobby of collecting autographs of former Ail-Americans. This collection is getting closer and closer to completion for the years gone by, and of course, there are many of the athletes who are not with us anymore. Personally, I recall the football exploits of your son, Nile, and in writing to you at this time, I certainly do not want to open any old wounds. I hope you can understand my writing to you at this time. I thought perhaps if you had a signature of your son from an old letter, or something, you might feel as though you would like to add it to this collection. Certainly there is none like it in the country. If you have one which you do not want to dispose of I can readily understand this, also. Your son was not only a great football player, but he gave the supreme gift so that we might continue to have football and other things in this great country of ours. I certainly hope the remaining part of his family is enjoying excellent health, and may all your futures be extremely good. Sincerely, 'Bill Beall Ass't FB Coach BB/bb (Over for reply)
