July 14th. 1864 - This morning Lieu Chandler and my self fixed a shade of bush over our tent and as it was one of the hotest days which we have had we found it to be greatly to our advantage - This afternoon the men we left at Memphis came out - with the officers who were left there in command of the Brigades. A foraging party sent out returned with two sheep and six head of cattle - So we think it likely that we will have something to eat. Received a letter from Sister Mollie Dated the 1st. of this month -
