Aug 27th. Most important event today was the receipt of three letters, one from Home one from Sister Mary & one from a lady-friend in Burlington Yesterday afternoon on the picket line a man came up whom I thought suspiciou looking - I halted and examined him and sent him to the Col. who found sufficient proof against him to send him to Memphis - the Col told him this morning to prepare to be shot at 10 o'cloc he was frightened and mad a confession I presume, and last night in disguise one of the boys pumped him and found out a good deal. Five days yet.
