after leaving there we came to Macon where there is an Acadamy for young ladies and one for young gentlemen they are finely furnished and on the whole are fine institutions - I saw some very handsome women there they were beautiful one was quite a saucy secesh, and declared she would never take the oath. I called at one house and found an old lady She was very much excited when the boys came near the house I told her she need not be frightened they should not disturb any thing, and then I sat down and told her what we were doing I found
