Wednesday Aug 24th. Still at Moscow - Sabbath's report of the doings of Forest in Memphis were much exagerated. On Monday morning the Col. requested me to take a detachment from our Co. and go out and bring in some beef - I took 13 men and went out about 8 miles where I found a lot of cattle from which I took 4 after going a short distance farther we came to a pasture, from which we took sixteen good young beeves - We had all we could eat and cider- melons & all that we could wish
