AUGUSTANA COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA 1810 1st Ave South Februaryr 14, 1940 OFFICE OF HERBERT KRAUSE PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH Dear Nile Kinnick: Sorry I missed you last Wednesday. I went up Northern Minnesota way, intentionally to run down a story for the new book, unintentionally to stay in bed with the flu. Otherwise I'd have been around. I'm proud of the dust you are raising (and that's straight from the shoulder) - sold, substantial, fresh mid-western dust; and how we need it to give into the super-sophisticated eyes of the East and the far west. The next time you are in or near Sioux Falls, give me a ring at the college, and we'll repair to the nearest hostelry and weep over auld lang syne at Iowa and at the dormitory. Cordially, Herbert Krause
