mainspring there, why does he have to stay on the road so much. That sort of life might be OK for awhile but the good old fireside family life has an appeal that I find difficult to resist. It seems to me that an attachment to Baum might take you away from the middle west, too. Parhaps that might work out alright but you have a pretty fair stake developed here and the point ought to have consideration. I believe that all this boils down to the matter of being pretty careful in making a connection that can very likely require a complete change in your picture. First I should make certain that the offer comes on the basis of recognition of your own present and. potential qualities to be of service to the firm you serve and not for the purpose of taking advantage of any prominence gained last fall; in other words be ware of the Christy Walshs. Be sure that it has a genuine appeal for you and that you won't feel like making a change in a little while. But the answer will come if you study , think and pray. I do not understand your question about the trophies. What do you want to know? Mother may go back to Adel next week for a few days, but she has made no definite plans. She would have gone this week except grandma asked her not to come. May I comment that your blanket could be expressed to you more easily and quickly than you could go after it. I presume that you received the golf clubs in good order. You need not hurry to send the other woods as I am not burning to get out with them, tho I will use them later no doubt. We saw Lincoln in Illinois last week, and it is really effective and a fine presentation of that period of Lincoln's life. We enjoyed it immensely and you should see it if possible. The film version is here this week and we may see it also. In further regard to the trophies, I spoke of making a contact with the Nebraska Clothing. Their response to the man who made the contact for me was they wouldn't want to set a precedent of paying for the privilege of putting in the exhibit. I have made no further effort on the matter but may make a similar attempt with Brandeis. In regard to the picture for Christy, I am inclined to hold with you that national distribution of your picture in the sweater might throw a sour color on the Collins episode. However, it seems logical to explain the presence of this sweater here by saying that they gave you another after you had donated yours to Rip. Brother Jones wired me an invitation for the Charles City affair, mostly to get an answer that might be read at the banquet, I believe. One of the nice things about being rushed to death its that the relaxation afterwards is so sweet. We shall be happy to see you when it is all over, and that won't be so very long now. Love Pop
