the Ohio Brigade pass us [Lu?] Gen's [Nouge?] & Veach, Boys reaching for the trains as they go by. The enemy evacuated night before last, and our men now in hot pursuit, they will make a stand at Marietta, they say, Our boys dug them out of their works in Vicksburg style, the works of our men being within 30 yds in some places, 7 Waited for a large train to pass then in rear of our Brigade moved out Nor East to the RR., and south to * , and camped half a mile west, going in all about 6 miles. Passed the general hospital, Weather very warm. Got a small mail, some of it being lost in a field by the carrier. Co "H" went on picket The 27" boys came over to see us [Aquier?] Station is a nice little place of 2 or 300 inhabitants, Z 4 E I X Z , H π [$?] X Γ F, $ ÷ [$?] 8" Get up at 3 A M. and are ordered to go to Cartersville with a train Our reg only goes. Ride in wagons but do not go far are kept waiting until night for other trains to pass Go into camp at Altoona one half the Reg't being ahead * Acworth,
