Our Division lay under fire of artillery all day and lose some men. We are now almost in rear of Kennessan Mtn. Old Turchin talks to Wilkin See Joe Hooker, we can see Maritta from here. 28" Rather quiet all day. Gen Sherman and Schofield around the lines. In the evening a fight occurred in the skirmish line in the night. Our officers came up from the Hosp'tl there being some 10 there. The warmest weather we ever experienced, now Rumors of a move of two corps to Atlanta. Flag of Truce in 2" Div (Vertically, at left:-) A charge of 4' & 15' [fail?] [lose?] 3000. 29" Nothing going even the pickets quiet 30" Last night the 2nd Division repelled a charge, lost few men Muster Rolls made out and mustered. At dark we fell in and returned Georg's Div of 20 to their new works. We relieve the 149 NY. July 1st Like our new position very well. Fall in during the night. No picket firing. Co I. H. & G go on picket.
