Memphis March 31, 1863 My dear father and mother and sister i sat don to take my pen in hand to lat you now that i am well and i hope these fue lins will find you the same i am gaining fast only i codent stand to march yet and care my load i dont hafto do anething here a tol but sat and read ore ladon we hav our meals facth to us the dockter coms a rond once a day and if thar is anething the mater with us he gives us mdason we got warre god dockter here and he wont sand man to his regement not until he is stout a nof to stand to march and do most avrething he halpt
