Ben got some sweet brier roots the boys are nearly all making pipes Camp near Loudon Oct 3rd made two sweet brier pipes, cut two heads of hair, helped bake two days rations of bread. Oct. 4th.. been out foraging for corn got some apples Oct. 5th commenced drilling skirmish drill A.M battallion drill & dress parade P.M. went over the river got my shoes mended paid 90. cts
