FRIDAY, MARCH 25, 1864 With Mr. and Mrs. B- started to Burlington. Read "January and June". From the Pilot House enjoyed the scenery along the river Arrived here (Burlington) at 3, o'clock. A long good talk with Ortus. SATURDAY 26 Called on a number of friends. Am much pleased with my boarding place and roommate. Admire Mrs. D- more, & more as I know her better. SUNDAY 27 A very good day to me. 'Tended church, S, School and class. A long talk with Seburn after the latter. A few words with E.C. impressed me strangely.
