THURSDAY, JULY 14, 1864. A new experience today spent in Diet Kitchen of No 1. Hospital. Talked with many of the sick and wounded soldiers, and found them glad to see us. FRIDAY 15 Still in this interesting work. Never enjoyed any thing half so much before How insipid everything at home seems. SATURDAY 16 Mrs W- came to us this morning bringing Mrs R- a lovely woman. Mandas success surprises me. No thought of going home.
