SATURDAY, JULY 23, 1864. A busy day in the kitchen. Visited all the wards and talked with most of the soldiers. One poor fellow almost gone. My heart ached for his friends far away. SUNDAY 24 A calm holy day. Attended church in the Hospital dining room. Evening started with Mr. P & Mr & Mrs C- but returned. MONDAY 25 Unlike most things, this work grows in interest daily. Enjoy it more now than when we first came. Reading some.
