MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1864. After another day of tedious waiting started homeward. A rough ride on the freight train, With an effort threw of sad forebodings. TUESDAY 13 Arrived at C - at 10 o'clock. Off on the 1 1/2 train. Mrs W - Misses H & S - for company. Ride rough enough to shake all the life out of youth. WEDNESDAY 14 The joy of being with Manda again! Our Hospital seems one of the most pleasant places on earth. Gratitude fills my heart.
