watch & pray. Death is indeed abroad in our land & the Lord only knows how soon we may be called to judgement therefore it stands us in hand to be ever ready. Pray for me, that I may be faithful to the end & reap the reward - receive the crown of life. As for religious privileges, we have none whatever here more than one has when alone. I hope the time will soon come when we can worship together again. I have but 2 years from yesterday, at most, to serve, before my time will be out. I hope there will be no necessity of my serving my time out, but still I rather expect there will be. You speak of being to Newton & seeing Henry Cook &c &c. All I have to say is, be ware of a rake. I shall be very glad to see that photograph coming along anytime. I would send you money to get it & also to pay postage but I am living on borrowed money now. I have 700 dollars due me but cant get it now. I think however that it is in good hands, if it is not bearing interest. I have my shells packed up but have not got a box full or I would send them off by next shift. I have put up a small box for you which if you get I hope you will take good care of I have worked hard to get them. When you open the box be careful not to break the shells for some are very fragile. Also look well through the saw dust for small ones.
