Dont let Abram bother you so that you can not studdy this winter. I am sorry that they are waiting for me to name that boy for I really dont know what to call him. I really don't like the practice that is so common nowadays of naming after some ripstart of a military man for though he flourish to day perhaps tomorrow he will be where "Old Rosy" is - under arrest. & besides many of them are not such characters as I would want to name a boy after. I know more of military men then I did 30 months ago. But it is getting late & cold & I must stop for the night, for I am on the sick list the first time since I was promoted June 25 ' 64. I have had a very bad cough for 12 or 14 days but it is getting some better now. I kept on duty til I found I could not get rid of it til I got off duty then I reluctantly reported sick by direction of the Dr., - day before yesterday. If I have time before the mail goes out I shall probably write some more but good evening. Sunday 8 P.M. I forgot to tell you last night, that I have not been smoking for 10 days past & that perhaps I shall quit entirely. Dr ordered me to stop on account of my cough. I dont think of any thing more to write this time. I believe I will not send my shells yet.
