Leader came verry near being kild two weeks ago his horse stumbled and threw him and fell on him and put his knee out of joint and broke his collar bone and one or two ribs he is geting better we had a letter from Orson the other day they are all well Ellen and the boys attend day school and singing scool they have had a letter from Giles he talks of coming out we should be glad to see you all once more it is almost seven years since we saw him Martin is verry kind to us he helps pa get wood and we expect he will work the farm next summer, thare is not agoining to be any draft in Iowa this time the war news are incourageing and we hope & pray that this wicked rebellion will soon be put down and that our loved
