Polly says tell you she is looking for a letter from you she says she thinks it is no use for her to write unless she can get the start of me for she says I write all the news and you know that does not amount to much but you do not know any one here so that I can not write about them and there is not much news aside from neighborhood gossip, we are going to have a Donations party here one week from next saturday. I expect we will have a nice time I wish you could be with us but I guess I will stop for this time I hope I will get a letter from you soon. but I must stop. I hope you will get a fourlough this summer and let us see you once again 
but Good By for this time Yours truly and sincerly Nell 
The Mr Winters that I spoke of is coming up to spend the evening I told him I had no objections to his coming just to pass the time but for nothing else I think I have learned a lesson about that
