I would like to see Feb 14th 65 [1865?] Dear Ell I sit down this eveng to answer your long expected and ever welcome letter we are all well we that are at home for Grace has ben to Marengo for 3 weeaks. I feel unusually gloomy this evening and can not tell the cause I have ben talking a bout going to the mill to get weighed I do not think I have ben so fleshy for six or seven years yet I have had the headache for the past 10 days more than I have had it all winter Aunty was up here for dinner sunday she came home with me from Class and stayed till prayer meeting she is better than she was some time ago. we have
