on hand, from the Gun boats, a lot of false reports & we expected a real lot of good war news & that & our mail did not come there was a lot of mad pouty fellows I can asshure you The Ship goes back this after noon & I must hasten we expect another ship to day but it will bring no mail being a lumber ship, however we expect 1 soon that will bring mail & our Col, Lt Col & one Lt from leaves of absence & we shall probably get no mail til they come. The weather which has been very bad for a long time is now pleasent My health is improving but the Dr says that I shall not report for duty short
