1 Pleasant View Feb 23rd 1865 Thursday evening I recd your welcome letter of the 23rd and 28th of Jan on this evening and it was the first that I have had for three weeks. I was very anxious to hear from you, but was almost provoked when I got it for you scolded me and you know I do not like to be scolded. I felt as though I could take a cry over it, although I knew I deserved it with regard to the writing, for I know I am very careless and always write in a hurry (to night I am in a hurry for I have had an invitation to go to singing about 6 miles from here and I am expecting them
