Marengo Iowa Co Iowa March 19th 65 My Dear Son I sit down once more to write you a few lines to let you know how we are geting along we are not feeling first rate tho we are all up and able to move round except Adde she is quite unwell she had a severe atack of fever two weeks ago I sucseded in brakeing the fever and she was getting quite smart a week ago to day Polly came down to make us a visit in the night her babe was taken sick and died on thursday it was a sweet little fellow we all felt that it was hard to part with him and she felt so bad to think she was from home Martin & Mrs McCauley went home with her and took the child they have
