we are looking anxiously for a letter from you as we have not had one for nearly four week but I must close. praying that God will be with you and suport you in evry trying hour good by from your ever affectionate Mother Betsey Mead Friend Jim I improve this oportunity of directing a few lines to you. I expect that Grand ma has told you all the news, so I do not know what to say. But I will tell you about our school. it will be out in three days more. I have went through Kays. Arithmetic, part third. I think I understand the most prety well yet I know there is some things that I do not quite under stand. we studie Clarks Grammer, Mitchels higher geography and Wrights, Orthography. I presume that you have heard that Billy McKee was taken prisoner by the Rebs and a number of the other Boys of the twenty eighth But I must quit for want of room. Mollie Kepner God speed the right And bless the noble soldiers who fight Mr James Mead
