running to & from Atlanta to-day. The posts are being evacuated, and it seems that all the county south of Chattanooga is to be given up, while we go through to the Coast or Gulf. We expect to mak 10 miles per day, some think 15, but if we average 10 we will do well. Rome was burned on the 11th when the 4 Div of the 15" Corps evacuated it. 13" The Hospitals at Kingston were burned on the 12". 12" Got off early and after going to within 2 miles of Ackworth we tore up 2 miles of the R R (Our Brig) then marched
