18. Three loads (wagon loads) of mail came in for our corps yesterday. Had inspection by Brig inspector, No rations yet that amount to anything. 19". No rations for our Div yet. Rearranged camp, 20" Trains passed loaded with rations. Boys out all night confiscating such boxes as they could lay their hands on. Firing on the front line growing less. Heard several loud explosions last night towards Savannah. Seige guns being planted to shell the city. Three of Co "H" put in arrest for their appropriating spree.
