27" Our Corps on "grand review" to day. Our Div complimented on its solderly appearance, Captures at S- amount to 13 locomotives 150 heavy guns 33000 bales of cotton. 28" My birth day. A very wet rainy disagreeable day. A squad sent to Fort Jackson for Oysters, The Blockade runner captured in town. 29" A cold blustering day. Our Reg went on picket. I staid in to make out muster rolls, Boys grumble at the short rations 30 Brigade went to town to relieve 20" Corps while they were being reviewed.
