Pancost has sold his house and bout a lot back of the Observitory on the hill and intends to put a stone house on it this winter. Mary I see by your leter that it is Just to years to day Since John Started from thare with the Doct. Sept 29 wee have ben living on this side of the River 3 months John could get steady work over hear and so wee thout it best to come hear, but wee are going to moe back again he has taken 3 houses to build in Fulton and gone in pardner with a man over thare. it is a verry pleasant place over hear mutch more so than on the other side of the river though I tel John that I do not like the name of living in a slave state. I was verry glad to see a fiew lines in your leter from Uncle John I think often of his litle girls and hope to see them before long give my love to Uncle and Aunt Rachel. Mary I want you to tel Sibyl that I am awating for an answer to the leter that I sent her last spring. tell Amanda Hurd that I wood be glad to get a leter from her and give my love to Mrs Hurd. Mother I suppose you wood like to know what I am adoing I quilted 3 quilts last fall and one this and have fore more peased redy to quilt. I remember the blocks that you and Aunt Sally quilted for me and look at them verry often. tel Aunt Sally that I am coming to make her some dreses next spring and for her not to be biscouraged
