Minniear (Upside-down, at bottom of page:-) Oct mon the 2. 1845 My dear Uncle Bean I am glad to have the opportunity of writing a fiew lines to you but wood be mutch happier to receive a fiew lines from you [Loct?] my little mockin bird died sat night and John threw it away and I made him get it and bury it I fet verry sorry to see it ded and cried verry hard I felt about like Watkin did when he starved his litle chickens tell Mary that I will come and help her quilt her star quilt if she has not it dun yet. I wood be verry glad to see you and Mary hear this fall and we wood have great time if you wood come and see us. John sends his love to you and Mary and said tel the Doct that he has answerd all the leters you have sent him I hope it will not be long before you write to us and I want Mary to answer the leter I sent her last spring my love to Mary No more at present and please excuse these fiew bad lines, yours Afectionately M.
