Sunday Morning Novbr 30th continued - we have Had Delightful weather since my arrival here; Rained some two Days the Last Rain I believe was on Wednesday of Last week. Yesterday afternoon was cloudy and this Morning the Streets are merely whitened with snow - Just from Breakfast Dined on Hallibut this morning Yesterrdy at Dinner Had fried clams. Diet mostly Bakers Bread Irish & sweet potatoes pork Beef mutton Turkey chickens cabbage &c Just common Country Diet all fresh and as a general Rule 1/2 cooked Butter is not Like country Butter - sometimes a Little Dirty and frowy I mentioned it was snowing a Little this morning would further say it Has been freezing weather 10 or 12 Days with the Exception of one Rainy Day - I think it will be Best for You to Direct Letters to me in this way first my name ---- Colledge Building 659 Broadway N.Y. Papers Had Just better be beetter Directed to the city of N.Y. I do not care particularly about Having papers sent unless they contain something of Particular Interest.. I had Rather Have one Letter than a Dozen papers these Remarks are strictly for Your own Instruction; papers from any source would be thankfully Recd.. but my time for Reading must necessarily be Limited During the Day and I have Doubts about being able to Read Nights much this winter consequently I would Rather Your Communications would be in writing - if Howell wants to send me an Abolition paper I should with pleasure peruse it on his acct.. and if it should contain communications from the pen of Cassius M Clay I Earnestly solicit them on my own acct
