Sunday Decbr 7th 45 I have this Day been to church Heard the Rev. Mr Roberts of Dutchess county; who is at present in the City Supplying the place of Eld Simonton. Had a Verry polite Invitation to Dine with the Rev. Gentlemen at the House of one of His friends; but You Know I Declined for the Sake of writing this Short Epistle. It was my Intention to Have attended the same Church Last Sabbath; but the Day being Verry Unpleasant Did not. This Day is Verry pleasant Yet quite cold.  Last Wednesday there was snow to the Depth of 2 or 3 Inches Next Day it Rained Most of the Day that being Thanksgiving Day since that it Has been clear & cold. The Little snow still Remains - the Small Pox is Said to be quite plenty in the City at present.  on Thanksgiving Day there was partial suspensions of Business in the City;  Most or all the churches in the City were in attendance at there usual places of worship - the Lectures at the Colledge were suspended for the Day.  I Shall probably commence attending the Bellview Hospital the Latter part of the present week - for the first 1/2 of this week shall be Engaged in Dissection Shall aim to be Verry careful and thereby avoid any axcident from that Source.  I. Expect Before this Letter will Reach you There will be some money paid in to Butler by Asa Sturtevant and some by Franklin Wells or it may come from the poormasters if you should want it or any part of it You can call on Hamilton Butler for it. There was also some coming from Cochran of Conneaut Ville to be paid in the course of this month if you Do mot need any of it Butler will probably forward a Draft to me for the amount paid into His Hands by the first or middle of January
