April the 19 1846 Dear Friend I have waited one long month for a leter from you but have not seen it yet but I think I will this week if you have not taken up with one of the [Monita?] girls. Mother has not recoverd from her sickness yet but is so [she?] can ride out Father and Mother has gone to Meads-ville [Vertically, at left-hand side of page:] May hapiness be ever thine And peace thy stepps attend Except this tribute of respect From one that is thy friend Margaret
