Jany 28th 1849 Dear Sir it is with rather unplesant feelings that I attempt to write to you at this time, there has been considerable going on Since I left here last fall no Sooner had I left here than the report was sirculated that I was not coming to this contry again and it was believed by some Wood the man that I wrote to to See about that land payd but litle or no attention to it and in consequence of the reports in circulation Mr King Sold the land to another person and it would be attended with a lawsuit to recover it and the case some what doutful after all, there is Some probberbility of geting the Sale set aside yet not certin I have counceled a lawyer on the mater and concluded it best to let the mater rest I shall make a lawful tender of the first payment and then see how he stands affected about it other maters about as i left I hope this affair will not discourage you from coming to this contry you may have an interest with me where i am at presant if you will come out here i am sorry that there is not some person to work with me here the chance here looks beter if posible than whin I left I wish Some man with a team was here to help me put in the Spring crop as the men concernd with me have a nough other buisness to attend to
