Meadville Sunday July 22. 1849. 
Dear Sir, 
I have been away from home about 10 Days at Sherman's Corners getting some lumber and fire wood (a Boat load in all) and came home to day. Your letter has just been handed me - I was sorry that Rachel did not answer it, but I hasten to reply. 
I will attend to your mortgage immediately as requested. I have no money by me now. If it is so that you can let it rest in my hands a while longer I would like it - If not, I must get it for you. Please write and let me know whether you can or not. If you cannot, I will be down to see you next week. 
I would like very well to have you and Mary come out and make us a visit. We are as well as usual. I have not been attending to practice since the fore part of last winter. I am now about building an Office on my lot 14 by 20 feet. No more at present. Give my love to Father and Mother when you see them.
