Honest Old Abe has the Electoral vote of Minnesota by about 10,000 majority and our entire vote will not exceed 40,000 hence the necessity of counting the north Star State Sound on the Goose question - Tell the Boys that I keep the Rifle & Shot Gun all right for them also plenty of land for them to work when they come to Minnesota - We have an ample supply of provisions in store for ourselves and all friends who may favour us with their Company during the year, Therefore banish all of your doubts and fears and come along, for we have some 600 Bushels of Wheat on hand and other coarse fodder in the same proportion, I have been taking rather an active part in Political affars since I have been in Minnesota, but intend after this winter to purchas some Sheep and turn my attention to Sheepticks in place of Politics as a matter policy in a financial point of view - If you will excuse the levity contained in this note I will endeavour to answer your next with a due degree of gravity Fraternally yours A.H. Butler
