Cincinnati Oct 29th 1862 Dr A.A. Bean "Dear Uncle" On leaving your place last Spring, I think I told you that I would write on my return home. You see I have not keept my promise very well that is I have not written as soon as I should of done. On my return I found every thing up side down, and Father being sick at the time I had double duty to attend to, and oweing to Fathers death and being appointed one of the Administrators to the Estate, I have had but little leasure time to Spare. for the last Four months I have been at work early and late bending over a desk writing and it is almost killing me. I have the work to do and only a Short time to do it in
