Frederick Maryland Dec 20th 1862 All Things Remain with Me about as they were when You Last heard from Me Not any further News from Columbus have not written to Columbus or to Delaware sinc you have notice of; My Own health about the Same, a Little better upon the whole Just able to attd to business want to make out my 3 months & then come Home as soon as practicable after that. Waiting the Movement of the authorities now in order to fit some for there Regiments and many More for Discharge - warm Clothing is what they need most in this No 3. Department if I had the management of affairs I would bring about a change in this Respect as well as many others = Our Last Battle has been a hard one You probably know more about it than I do. I. have but Little time to Read & perhaps as Little Disposition. There have been Discharged from this Hospital 15 and as many more awaiting there papers, there has been 3 of My Recommends Returned to Me out of about 30 or 35 and those 3 will be Discharged soon I shall send in a fine Batch on Monday if possible clear the List of old cases and 4 out of the 10 Recd this week, such a Shame to Load down our army with Boys & cripples it has been Done Every where & unless there is considerable pains Taken they will be drawing pensions notwithstanding they have not Done one weeks service since Enlistment - Close of this nights Labor A.A.Bean
