Camp A 2,miles West of Frederick City Md. Jany 16th. 63 order Relieving Me from Duty at Old Church was Dated 9th I did not Report untill 12th & Returned to the City on furlough for 3 Day used 36 hours of it; Returning to Camp in time for supper Last Evening. Board first quality at 3$ pr week quarters furnished consisting of Tent frame, covered with firm tent Cloth Double Roof Single wall good floor.& Door Stove Sufficiently Large cot Bed with sufficient Clothing - Brittania Pitcher & Drinking Cup. & tin washbowl - before I Retired Last Night Rain commenced falling & I think continued Most of the Night & for most this fore noon this afternoon and to night wind Cold & Blowing furiously as though competing with the Highland Range near the Shores of Lake Erie; causing These quarters to tremble Still My candle Burns without Difficulty - Blaze is not Verry Steady - I could could go in Shirt Sleeves Last Night but want My coat on to night; it is a Splinded house -(but the walls are Rather Thin); for any Common Weather and answers an Excellent purpose for this The Most Boistrous kind of weather - mud which was quite plenty This morning is Rapidly Disappearing - Through the operation of common philosophical causes or principles
