The new quarters tremble again to-night as also Last night; from the Effects of north Eas gale or at Least about the Same kind of a wind as You are probably haveing. The Strong wind I spoke of in My Last Letter was from the west, The Ground froze Solid; This was a Delightful Camp then, now it is quite The; Reverse; The N.E. wind commenced Yesterday Morning frozen Rain commenced falling about 8 PM; Thawed Rain 7 Am This Morning & mud follows; outside & in my quarters, Still the mud is so much Deeper outside My ten foot house is a nice Thing not one Drop of Rain to Disturb - I Think My Boy John that one of The best acts of my life was in keeping You out of The Army - and another act or Move was, a bad one that, I did not urge the propriety of moving to Coneaut Soon as the crops were secured, but what is Done cannot at all times be Remedied it Remains to try & make More Sane Moves for the future I Think I will have You Send Me Money to the amount of twenty Dollars more. $10 at one time & Repeat. I Expect to know my present position with the. U.S.Gov & the Gov of the State of Ohio in 5 Days from now,, This,, 22 Jany - I Mean if practicable before I. leave here to Visit S. Mountain & Antietam. I wish I, knew wher to Direct my Letters. A.A.B.
