Memphis Tenn April 26.1863 Mrs Mary P Bean Dr Madam I wrote you yesterday - that fears were entertained for the recovery of Dr A A Bean of the 114 Ohio V I and it seems that our fears were not without foundation - The Doctor began to fail yesterday in the middle of the day - I consulted Dr Davis in the PM - he gave some additional directives and afterwards called to see him - he could take very little but liquids - he continued through the night in a very exhausted state, & most of the time quiet -
