Delaware May 18, 63 Mr J. V. Bean, Dear Nephew, I was much pleased to recieve yours of the 13th.inst. I was very glad to learn your mother had returned safe. I was pleased to learn also that your father had been with you at home after he was here and at Columbus. You and your mother have sustained an irreparable loss in the loss of your good father. I can say nothing to console you, but grieve with you on the account of your berievement. I hope you will do all in your power to sustain your mother in her present affliction. I think your mother has done the best she could, and acted wisely in all she has done. It is well to leave the question of the removal of your father's remains to your place, for future consideration.
