Monday July 7th 1913 Will did not feel well and slept most of the forenoon. I painted the closets up stairs and the washing machine. I did some mending in the afternoon. slept some. Tuesday July 8th 1913 I did some extra work up stairs and got things all back in the closets. I rested some before early supper. Went down home at 6:15 to spend the evening with By & Millie they came yesterday from Chicago. Wednesday July 9th 1913 Will helped me work. After dinner I rested awhile and went to town at 3:15. did some shopping and went to the funeral of Miss Julia Boyl. Hattie & I went to the cemetery. I came home at 6:30 and later went down to Frankie Pointer's to call on Anna Hartsock. Rob & Cora drove up there and brought me home. They stayed till ten. Thursday July 10th 1913 I put screening in garret windows and ironed before noon. I sewed some in afternoon and went downw to Mary Woolfs to spend the evening a letter from Lydia. Friday July 11th 1913 I was busy with the work most of the forenoon. Will went to town after dinner. I was down to the store of an errand and over to Frankie Pointers. She told me Mr J. C. Cochran died this morning. I cut out a dress shirt for myself and sewed all afternoon. It rained a couple of showers before night.
