Isaac Smith was sent to Alexandria & Lieut Hubbard has had a letter from him & he is most well & Dr Rug has seen him some of the boys said the Dr was going to give him a discharge but dont know how true it is. I am just as well a I was when I left home & weigh the same 147 lbs & can march as far as the best of them. I should like some of your sweet apple sauce here but can not feel contented to come home & leave the rest of the boys yet nor if I did I couldnt but I should like to come home if all of the Soldiers could come & the war was over. I think it must be lonesome
