to land on the Mississippi side got to be very warm. & soon started again at 3 PM for about 4 Miles a very rough voyage (about Ship Island) past Helana & Lake Providence before night, at midnight to Vicksburgh. Stopped next day and at night took the Negroes back to Memphis on board the boat "Mary Forsyth", at Vicburg very warm during te day. 25th fine wheather. Left that evening got to Memphis Sunday morning got to Cairo Ill. 28th Left at noon. got to Mattoon midnight 29th to Indianapolis at 5 1/2 AM to Columbus at 3 PM. all save and well again. 31st on a trip to Potomic. left Col. at 3 PM crossed at Ballair
