Oct. 3. 1997 Robert A. McCown, Head Special Collections University of Iowa Library Iowa City, Iowa 52242 Dear Mr. McCown; The enclosed memorabilia is for the Nile C. Kinnick Collection in the University of Iowa Library. I am happy to send it to you and I hope it will serve some purpose in rounding out the material already in the collection. Back on 8-18-90 Paul Baender of the English Department had suggested that I send the material, as has Bob Hobbs, a friend of mine, and longtime friend of Nile. Since 1990 we have left the State of Washington. In addit- ion, I have been ministering to a wife with terminal illness, plus, and probably foremost, I just could not get motivated. I'm sorry for the tardiness. I am certain this material will be more important and of better service to the University in the Kinnick Collection, than in my dusty closet. One of these days I hope to be able to review the collection. Will you be so kind as to advise Professor Baender that the material has finally arrived? With all good wishes, and ON Iowa.
