Newton Iowa Feb 24th 1865 Fryday after noon Dear uncle I take my pen in hand to let you know that we are all well and hope you the Same when it comes to hand, I have very Soare Eyes their are getting better one has ben Soar I am afraid the other one will get Soar to I haveent ben to School any this week they war 4 of they neighbors boy and girls came in last night and we had a great time one of the boys was Ellens beau Oh how I wish you could of ben here, I dident get to bed till 10 Oclock ma talks of going down granmas when Mr prestons goes next time there isent but one week more of our School and I Sorry, Ella & the boys are at School now, we havent bought a horse pa is going to look at one to morrow and I hope he will bye one be fore he comes back Ellen got a valintine it war pirty I cant think of any more. I would like to See you very much. we have named the baby Eddie Emmerson. I have ben avising tonight. I have got my eyes tide up and i cant keep the lines ma and Ellen has both got blaines they have got them on now I bet you would laughf to See them, I must close now So good by From Anna to uncle Jim excuse my bad riting Fare well
