I will do all that can be done in the way of collecting the amount due you from Hall, and remit as fast as collected - Times are hard here on account of scarcity of money. Have had a verry mild winter no snow of any consequence, not over ten days sleighing and poor at that. No rain this spring not even a good shower since the first of Feb - Springs and streams are extremely low and the ground so dry that wheat sowed three weeks ago and not well covered with dirt is dry enough to grind, but we hope for a better time comeing however distant -
