January, Tuesday 12, 1864 Camped near Wood Ville Ala I am on picket guard to day Post at the mill there was a greate many Citisans Women & Children Came in to Camp to day to draw ration January, Wednesday 13, 1864 Camped Wood Ville Ala last night at Mid night our Regt & the 4th Iowa was orderd out on a Scout with two day Ration in haver Sacks. I was lucky I did not have to go with them I wash my Cloths to day for the first in one year. L.[P?] Curtis is detach in to the mounted Inftry or P.J. Osterhause Body guard to day
